PLAY AND READ COMFORTABLY
Accessibility
The Outer Islands is accessibility friendly, with adjustable reading, driving and camera comfort options. Choose the settings that work for you.
Game accessibility options
- Text size up to 175%. Your preferred size is saved.
- Longer or dismissible hints give you more time to read, alongside persistent controls references.
- Reduced motion and camera comfort provide options for camera movement and comfort inside Daisy’s cab.
- Adjustable driving controls include separate forward and reverse turning rates, steering response and return, controller dead zone and handling presets.
- Control customisation and improved subtitle and warning presentation help you tailor the experience.
- Expanding, scrolling popups keep longer content reachable at larger text sizes.
Game preferences save automatically across restarts, new games and checkpoint loads. Layout checks passed at 720p and in smaller windows. These completed features are part of the forthcoming demo update; the build assigned to an existing test invitation may be older.
Website accessibility options
Open Accessibility options at the bottom of any page to choose text sizes from 100% to 175%, high contrast, increased reading spacing, underlined text links and reduced motion. Choose “Remember my accessibility settings” to save preferences in your browser. Turn it off to remove them; the current page can still use your settings. Browser zoom remains available.
The site also respects your device’s reduced-motion preference. Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between controls, Enter to follow links, and Space to toggle checkboxes or open the options panel. The panel scrolls when space is limited. Public pages include a skip-to-content link.
