Bridge Isle is the new starting point for The Outer Islands. Its radio masts picked up the strange signal from Asylum Rock. The island was evacuated before Anne arrived, but the question of whether she is entirely alone remains open.

Her way across is Daisy, a one-person truck built for the island’s long, winding roads. Bridge Isle covers roughly six by four kilometres, with mountains, hills and weather that changes from snow and rain to storms and calmer stretches. Anne will need to find a heater and canopy to travel safely. That search gives each detour a purpose.

Driving has its own consequences. Daisy takes damage, including from off-road travel, and a bad crash need not end the journey: the truck can be restored with a modest damage penalty. Its condition is part of the save system, so looking after it matters beyond a single stretch of road.

Longer drives have an original musical companion on Daisy’s radio. The new notification system keeps spoken dialogue visible and lets players bring back earlier messages when they need to check a lead. Anne’s updated display also makes her own condition and the truck’s vital statistics easier to read while travelling.

One of Anne’s first encounters is the Hare, a man wearing a crude folk mask shaped like a rabbit’s head. He offers her some fuel and speaks briefly, but his presence raises more questions than it answers. Bridge Isle is supposed to be abandoned. The people Anne meets do little to make that certainty feel secure.

Some figures may ask for a lift in Daisy’s truck bed and offer a reward; others may ignore Anne altogether. Those requests are already playable, adding small, unpredictable human moments to a journey through a place that should be empty. Their meaning is something for players to discover.

Bridge Isle is designed to invite exploration, then make you wonder who is paying attention while you do it.
